HP FlexFabric 10Gb 2-port 556FLR-SFP+ Adapter

Hewlett Packard Enterprise FlexFabric 10Gb 2-port 556FLR-SFP+. Internal. Connectivity technology: Wired, Host interface: PCI Express, Interface: Fiber. Maximum data transfer rate: 10000 Mbit/s

Do you need a high-performance 10 Gb Ethernet adapter for your HP ProLiant Gen9 server family? The HP FlexFabric 10Gb 2-port 556FLR-SFP+ Adapter is installed in the FlexibleLOM socket in the ProLiant Gen9 Rack/Tower servers. The adapter offers 10 GbE FlexibleLOM with RDMA and Tunnel Offload features.

It provides full-featured, high-performance, converged 10 Gb Ethernet that accelerates IT services and increases data center efficiency. Tunnel Offload provides efficient overlay networking to increase VM migration flexibility and network scale with minimal impact to performance. Traditional layer 2 networks limit mobility and scale of virtualized and multi-tenant workloads.

With RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) data transfer efficiency dramatically increases with low latencies for applications such as Microsoft Hyper-V Live Migration, Microsoft SQL and Microsoft Storage Spaces with SMB Direct.

What's new

Convergence of FCoE or RoCE with LAN traffic on a single 10 GbE Ethernet wire

Tunnel Offload improves network virtualization with VXLAN and NVGRE

Improve operational agility and performance with RoCE

Lower Costs and Deliver Faster Services by Converging FCoE or RoCE with LAN Traffic on a Single Wire

The HP FlexFabric 10Gb 2-port 556FLR-SFP+ Adapter is the industry’s first product to converge FCoE or RoCE with LAN traffic on a single Ethernet fabric, reducing the complexity for managing multiple traffic in the data center.

This adapter can cost-effectively increase server I/O bandwidth and avoid bottlenecks in your HP ProLiant Gen9 Server today and in the future.

Simplify the infrastructure by reducing 87% of the hardware compared to previous 1 GbE generations, reducing operational costs and acquisition costs.

Provide up to 40 Gb/s of converged bi-directional bandwidth, helping to alleviate network bottlenecks.

Improve Network Virtualization Performance and Scale with Tunnel Offload

The HP FlexFabric 10Gb 2-port 556FLR-SFP+ Adapter uses Tunnel Offload and a 10 GbE bandwidth improvement to take full advantage of overlay networking.

You can increase I/O throughput up to 129%, and reduce CPU and power consumption by 42% and 122% respectively using Tunnel Offload. 1

Increase the scale of VMs/VLANs beyond the traditional limit of 4,096.

Simplify network services provisioning.

Improve Operational Agility with Faster VM Migration and Storage Data Access

The HP FlexFabric 10Gb 2-port 556FLR-SFP+ Adapter provides faster Microsoft Hyper-V Live Migration (using SMB Direct with RoCE instead of TCP/IP).

Reduce CPU consumption, lower latency and improve host VM density and server efficiency using RoCE.
